Ironwood Pressure Treated Guide Rail

The standard appearance for the Ironwood guide rail system. Typically this system is available in ACQ (.40 retention) pressure treated red, lodgepole, or ponderosa pine. All steel components and connecting hardware are hot dipped galvanized to ASTM A123.

Ironwood End Terminal, Type 1, Pressure Treated

This item is the standard end terminal for low speed applications ( 30 MPH or less ). For material specifications, see product # 1. The end terminal includes a single section of rail with all necessary components for complete installation.

Ironwood End Terminal, Type 2, Pressure Treated

Where highway speeds exceed 30 MPH, a Type 2 end terminal can be used for rail termination. This item includes a 4,000 lb. concrete anchor unit and two rail sections with all necessary components for complete installation. Termination must occur outside the clear zone.

Ironwood Guide Rail End Terminal, Type 3, Pressure Treated & Powder Coated

Where limited right of way is available for rail termination, the Ironwood system can be spliced to the steel Box Beam End Terminal, Type 3. This configuration provides for the use of Ironwood as a barrier on 55 MPH high speed roads. The unit shown in the photo has been powder coated to a dark brown color per the customer’s context sensitive specification. Ironwood is the only NCHRP 350, TL-3 aesthetic guide rail system that can be connected to a type 3 end terminal.
